Technical Manager

This is a leadership role at the heart of our team. You will be reponsible for managing, shaping, training and mentoring the pre and post sales technical teams to ensure that we provide exceptional services and exceed the expections of our demanding customers and partners.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have a wide understanding of the IP video market, its key customers and technology areas, and can build deep and broad relationships with customers at all levels. They should then work with our customers to develop solutions to meet their needs, and work with our current and potential future technology partners to influence roadmaps and design solutions to meet market requirements.

The candidate will be flexible with a can do attitude and the ability to take ownership of issues and lead and collaborate internally and externally to resolve these issues. They should have a hunger to exceed targets, contribute to overall profitability and to enhance the positive image of Techex in the marketplace.

The candidate will be part of Techex’s extended management team and will be expected to contribute and influence the direction the company’s business develops in.
Responsibilities
  • Department and team management and leadership
  • Responsible for career and technical skills development of engineers in the team
  • Responsible for exceptional quality of all technical output; pre-sales, commissioning & support
  • Understand the business environment, broadcast market and other related verticals and be conversant with latest technology trends and competitor activities
  • Overall management of projects and support, assignment of resource, identifying and mitigating risks, and act as main customer interface on progress and escalation
  • Regularly report progress and issues to MD
  • Proactively identify improvement areas across the business and introduce processes as appropriate
  • Arrange and setup key demonstrations and meetings on and off site
  • Negotiation of SLA contracts including demonstrating value added relationship
  • Build relationships with new and existing customers
Key Skills
  • Experience in managing projects and support contracts, dealing with technical issues and management of the customer interface at all levels and across all areas of the customer business

Principal Consultant

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have a wide understanding of the video market, its key customers and technology areas, can identify, target and build deep and broad relationships with customers at all levels. They should then work with our customers to develop solutions to meet their needs, and work with our current and potential future technology partners to influence roadmaps and design solutions to meet market requirements.

The candidate will be flexible with a can do attitude and the ability to identify and present clear product/solution benefits. They should have a hunger to exceed targets, contribute to overall profitability and to enhance the positive image of Techex in the marketplace.

The candidate will be part of Techex’s extended management team and will be expected to contribute and influence the direction the company’s business develops in.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend trade shows and conventions, speak at conferences and produce technology/white papers as required to promote Techex in our industry

Network Video Engineer

Techex is looking for engineers to join our customer facing technical team. In our technical team, it is essential that you have:

  • A talent for problem-solving and logical thinking
  • High level of competence and experience using computer systems
  • Experience with Microsoft and Linux server operating systems
  • Knowledge of IP networking (including TCP, SNMP, RTP, multicasting, routing)
  • Ability to develop and execute test plan and test cases

New Business Sales Manager

Techex partners with emerging technology companies who are challenging the way IP is used to move and manage video.

Developer

We are looking for developers with a difference. Our unique approach means that, as well as deployed software products which we support, maintain and develop, we have a need to provide reactive, project-based development work to meet specific customer integration requirements. A project developer will need:

  • Strong skills in Node, JavaScript, MongoDB, Redis and CSS
  • Flexibility to adapt to new techniques and languages at short notice
  • An understanding of code and query optimisation
  • Creativity and problem-solving ability
  • Ideally, knowledge of XML, Websockets, audio/video, realtime media transport and IP networking
