ATEME Aims to Simplify Video Network Infrastructure
AMSTERDAM, PARIS, SANTA CLARA, SEPTEMBER 11, 2015, IBC, HALL 1, BOOTH#D71 – ATEME announced plans to bring together ATEME service provider infrastructure software for video processing and the new Intel® Visual Compute Accelerator (Intel® VCA) card. By bringing together the ATEME solution and Intel technologies, ATEME aims to provide low OPEX, high video quality and high density solutions.
“By integrating Intel technologies with the ATEME solution, we will help advance the ATEME mission of simplifying the video networking infrastructure,” said Michel Artieres, CEO of ATEME. “Our solution development with Intel will allow service providers to enhance their viewer experience by improving video quality, while reducing bit rates and OPEX, and freeing up network bandwidth for additional data services.”
"The Intel Visual Compute Accelerator enables content and service providers to utilize the performance capability of the Intel Xeon E5 v3 processor series with the graphics capability provided by Intel Xeon E3 processors yielding incredible performance and scale for video transcoding workloads," said Jim Blakley, General Manager of the Visual Cloud Group at Intel. “ATEME utilizes the full capabilities of Intel VCA-enabled infrastructure, with ATEME video processing software addressing the requirements of the growing video distribution market segment."
Intel VCA delivers industry-leading TCO for Price-Performance-Power per channel by using Intel® Xeon® processor E3 advances in graphics processing and combining that with Intel® Xeon® processor E5 compute power. Intel VCA architecture enables choice of any operating systems, while the card virtual network allows seamless communication with the host server.
ATEME at IBC 2015 – Stand 1.D71 ATAME will be showcasing its full range of solutions at IBC on stand 1.D71 in Hall 1. This includes ATEME TITAN, a high video quality, high density software compression solution, designed for Cable, DTH, and OTT. The virtualized software-based solution runs on any OS and any Intel CPU. TITAN is based on ATEME 5th Generation STREAM© compression engine and delivers the highest video quality at minimum bit rates, addressing main screens and multiscreen applications: from mobile resolutions up to UHDp60. TITAN is a complete distribution solution including SDI encoder, IP transcoder, multiplexer, statmux, packager and origin.
